If you would’ve told me two years ago that working out would be my favorite part of the day, I would’ve told you that you were CRAZY!
Growing up, I was always involved in cheer and dance. When I got to college, all of that physical exercise suddenly stopped. I feel like y’all know where this story is going…
I joined gyms, tried at-home workouts such as BBG, but absolutely hated all of it. It wasn’t that I was ever overweight, but I knew all of the positive benefits of physical exercise so I tried my best to like it; I just never did.
It wasn’t until I graduated college (but was still living in College Station), when my friend, Rachel, brought me to a workout studio (Tone 360) that offered group classes. I was a little hesitant at first, but then realized that having instructors and people around really motivated me. My mindset quickly changed from “having to go to the gym” to “wanting to go to the gym.”
A few months after discovering this place, I made the decision to move to Houston. While I was super excited, the number one thing I was going to miss about College Station was that fitness studio. Rachel and I actually moved to Houston at the same time and she ended up taking me to Orangetheory. She said if I liked the group classes, I would probably like OTF. Boy, was she right!!
I have been going to Orangetheory for about 10 months now and I can’t say enough positive things about it. If you live close to an OTF, you should definitely try it out because your first class is free (so you have absolutely nothing to lose!) I go about 5 times a week and it truly is my favorite part of the day.
If you’re the type of person who dreads working out, I encourage you to try group classes!! It doesn’t have to be OTF. It could spin classes (I heard these are super fun), or barre, or Zumba (also fun!) There are so many great benefits to working out, so try to find something you love!
Okay, now onto the really fun stuff… the clothes!! When it comes to workout clothes (and shoes,) quality is SO important. Being comfortable during your workout is a must, so I highly recommend investing in the good stuff. My entire look today is Nike, which has always been one of my favorites. I was very excited when they reached out to me and asked if I wanted to try one of their new shoes.. the Nike React. Y’all, these shoes are heaven! You can tell from the pictures how much padding they have, which makes them so dang comfy. This pink color that I’m wearing actually gets released TOMORROW!! Set your alarms people, cause I have a feeling these bad boys will sell out!
