Spa Day with Grand Velas Riviera Maya

During our stay at Grand Velas Riviera Maya, we got to spend a morning at the spa and experience a hydrotherapy treatment. I honestly had no idea what to expect when going in, and was pleasantly surprised with the entire experience! These were the eight different facilities that we went through:

Sauna: First, we went in the sauna, which was a very relaxing way to start our journey. They gave us cold towels to put on our faces and cucumbers to go over our eyes!

Ice Room: Next, we went straight from the hot sauna to the ice room, which felt amazing! This room was very refreshing, and had a nice mint scent.

Color Therapy Steam: The next stop was a pitch black steam room that had colored lights. I’ve always been a huge fan of steam rooms, so this was one of my favorites!

Clay Room: After the steam room, we went to the clay room, where we were headed small tubs of clay to put all over our bodies. I do clay masks on my face weekly, so it was nice to be able to do it on my entire body. My skin felt SO smooth when the entire treatment was over!

Polar Pools: After that, we stepped into the polar pools. They looked like two lap pools with jets (but the water only went up to your knees), and you would back and forth between the cold pool and the hot pool.

Waterfalls: There were three huge waterfalls that you got to sit under and let the jets massage your back- this felt amazing!

Bubble Volcano: Next, we went to the corner of a large pool, which had intense jets that helped the circulation in our legs.

Water Bubble Bed: The last thing we did was relax on the water bubble beds. There were three of them located in the pool, and had jet massagers that massaged the neck area. It was the perfect ending to the spa experience!

We had such a relaxing morning at the spa, and the entire experience was very luxurious!
