New Years Eve Look

Dress: BCBG (off-white, white) | Shoes: Gianni Bini | Clutch: Gigi New York | Bracelet: David Yurman

Happy New Years Eve, lovelies!! Wow, 2016 has been one for the books! First, I launched Champagne and Chanel, which has been one of the best experiences of my life. Looking back, I had absolutely NO idea what I was doing when I started this journey. I have learned so much over the past year, and am so thankful for everything my blog has taught me. I can’t tell y’all how much I appreciate your love and support- it means the WORLD to me, and I never take y’all for granted!

In 2016, I also graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in Communication and accepted a position as Website and Social Media Manager at Sabi Boutique in College Station. I definitely don’t have this whole “adulating” thing down yet, but I have a feeling 2017 will be a transformational year!

Again, thank you SO much for all your support this year. Reading your sweet comments and messages puts the biggest smile on my face, and reminds me that there are so many wonderful people in the world.

BRING ON 2017!!

One of my favorite parts about winter is cozy sweaters and hot cups of coffee! Not only is this sweater SO soft, but the back is absolutely adorable! It also comes in a cream and black (seriously debating buying all three)!

I’ve just been bundled up on my couch, binge watching Christmas movies! I started with The Grinch (my ALL time fave), now I’m watching Elf (a close second)! What are y’all’s favorite Christmas movies?!

Christmas Outfit 2016

Dress: Nordstrom | Heels: Lauren Lorraine | Necklace: Olive + Piper | Lipstick: MAC

Eeeeeeep, Christmas is officially ONE week away! While I usually spend most of the day in festive PJs, I love getting dressed up for a nice Christmas dinner! I decided to go with a classic red dress this year, with the prettiest ruffle details. I paired it with these plaid pumps (obsessed would be an understatement)!! Seriously, they might be my favorite shoes EVER!

I’m gonna be completely honest… I haven’t even started my Christmas shopping. I know, I know, it’s bad. I’ve just been super busy with finals, then graduation! But this week, I am getting my butt to the mall and getting it all done!

I hope everyone has a fabulous week! Stay warm!

Getting Personal with Southern Jewlz

Dress: Southern Jewlz | Cape: Goodnight Macroon | Shoes: Dillard’s | Necklace: Julia Marie

A couple weeks ago, I had the pleasure of meeting Randa Yezak, the owner of Southern Jewlz Boutique in College Station, Texas. After our chat, we decided to bring y’all a blog post about choosing career paths and following your dreams. Here is my experience and the struggles I went through when starting Champagne and Chanel:

Since I was 16 years old, my parents had my career path laid out for me. I remember sitting in the kitchen, discussing “safe” and “practical” career choices with my mom. While she always had my best interest at heart, my dreams and passions were never the main topic of discussion. It was all about finding a career path that would give me a guaranteed job at the end of college. Pharmaceutical Sales Rep is what we eventually came up with, and for about five years, I thought I was content with the plan.

However, I’ve always had a love for fashion, hair, and makeup. Putting outfits together, trying new hairstyles, and playing with makeup has always been my favorite way to express myself. But was fashion a “practical” career choice in my household? Nope.

During my freshman year of college, I started discovering fashion bloggers, and instantly found comfort in reading their blogs. Reading the words from creative girls who shared the same passion as me was inspiring. While I always loved following their blogs, I never in a million years thought I would be able to start my own. Putting myself out there and having absolute NO idea how people would respond is quite intimidating. You know what else is intimidating? Telling your mom that you want to be a blogger, instead of a Pharmaceutical Sales Rep- the job we’ve been set on for five years. Let’s just say, that didn’t go so well…

While I absolutely love my mom, and value her opinion immensely, I knew that this was the right choice for me. On January 20th, 2016, I launched www.champagneandchanel.com, which was one of the best decisions I have ever made. This past year has been a TON of hard work, but SO rewarding. I am truly overwhelmed by the amount of support I have received, and thankful for the knowledge I have gained.

If there’s one piece of advice I have for girls who are making career choices, it sounds so cliché, but follow your dreams. People will doubt you, especially since you’re young. Just work your ass off, and prove them wrong.

Steve Jobs once said, “Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become”.

This outfit is absolutely perfect for a Winter date night! Off-the-shoulder dresses are my favorite, and I love how this one is form-fitting! I paired the dress with my favorite black OTK boots!

Well, today I finished my last college class of all time (eeeekk!!). I graduate from Texas A&M University this Friday with my Bachelor’s degree in Communication. It has been an amazing four {and a half} years, and I’ll be writing a full blog post on my college experience, and tips I have for people who are going into college, or currently in college!

I hope everyone has a fabulous week!

Red Lip Guide

Red Lipstick | Lip Liner | Lip Prep & Prime | Lip Brush | Top | Sweater | Jeans | Shoes | Necklace | Purse

Y’all, we are already a week into December, how crazy is that?! The holiday parties have already begun, which means lots of red lips! I wanted to share my favorite products with y’all to achieve the perfect red lip.

This first thing I use is this Prep & Prime from MAC. I absolutely love matte reds, but they do tend to dry out my lips. The Prep & Prime helps my lips stay moisturized all day!

The next step is SO important when wearing red lipstick- apply liner!! When reds bleed, it is so obvious (and let’s be real, we’ve all seen someone who’s red lipstick has tragically smeared all over the place). Lining your lips will help the lipstick stay in place and look nice and smooth!

My last tip for y’all is to apply your lipstick with a brush. I find it so much easier to control where the color is going when I’m using a brush, versus using the whole stick on your lips!

Well, I hope these tips have helped y’all and I would love to hear how you achieve your perfect red lip! Hope everyone has a great rest of the week!

Well, it is FINALLY cold here in College Station, so I can actually wear coats! Although I’ve been living in leggings and sweatshirts lately because of finals, it’s so much fun to put on a cute outfit and heels to go out for date night!

I find myself wearing striped tops ALL the time because they’re so perfect for layering! I love this one because it’s fitted, so it doesn’t make my layers too bulky. I also love this coat because its great quality, but not super expensive!

For those of you who are going through finals right, keep truckin’!! We’re almost done, y’all! Christmas break is right around the corner and I can’t wait! I hope everyone has a great and productive week!
